For students of fifteen to twenty-five years, classes take the form of rehearsals for a play or musical. This enables students to develop their own core acting skills, whilst working on a range of texts and musical numbers at the same time. Rehearsals take place over the period of a term (ten weeks), or two terms for large-scale productions, with dress and technical rehearsals leading up to the production. Students are given the opportunity to perform their work in both established venues, site-specific locations and in the open-air.
Students are given the opportunity to work in a 'professional' manner. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential.
Option 1 - Non-Musical Theatre
Saturdays £60.00 (£55.00)
Students present a broad range of productions, from classical theatre to contemporary plays and devised work. This helps to develop both an awareness of different contexts and styles, and an understanding of how theatre has developed.
Option 2 - Musical Theatre
Sundays £60.00 (£55.00)
The musical theatre option enables students to explore songs from a variety of genres, from early Broadway musical to the modern rock-gospel. Many fine singing voices emerge during training, with both ensemble and solo singing taught. Additionally, many musical productions will require students to learn the allied skills of movement and dance.
Class Fees are based on a ten week term and are subject to change
